Jenneken Peeters, an Anabaptist martyr, was burned at the stake at Antwerp, Belgium, on 14 August 1571, with Jan van Rijssele and two Calvinists. She was an unmarried woman, apparently rather young. She was charged with the crimes of "having joined the sect of the Anabaptists, having attended their meetings, and persisting in her heresy."
