Klercken

Klercken (Clercquen, Clerckschen) was a term used in the 18th century to denote a West Prussian Mennonite group. According to H. van der Smissen it refers to the Huiskoopers. It is not unlikely that the name is identical with the Clarichen named in the Confession of Faith by Georg Hansen. In that case, it refers to the Flemish Mennonites, known as the "Danzigers."
