Koopmans (formerly often Coopmans) were a Dutch Mennonite family. Besides Klaas Koopmans and his son Rinse Klaasz Koopmans, there have been at least three other preachers of this family. Gerbrand Koopmans, b. 1779 at Leeuwarden, d. 1836 at Koudum, studied at the Amsterdam Mennonite Seminary 1801-1805 and served the congregations of Zaandam “Oude Huys” 1805-1814, Oostzaandam 1814-1821, and Bolsward 1821-1831 ([[Naamlijst der tegenwoordig in dienst zijnde predikanten der Mennoniten in de Vereenigde Nederlanden|Naamlijst]] 1815, 82-84; 1829, 29, 44).
