Korte Beschrijving, Hoe het met de Doopsgezinden gegaan is van 't begin af (1522) tot dezen tijd toe (1647). This account, written in 1647 by an unknown author, probably belonging to the Waterlander branch of the Dutch Mennonites and already 70 years of age, is only extant in an 18th-century manuscript by J. B. (?), found in the [[Amsterdam Mennonite Library (Bibliotheek en Archief van de Vereenigde Doopsgezinde Gemeente te Amsterdam)|Amsterdam Mennonite library]]. It was published and commentaried by J. G. de Hoop Scheffer in Doopsgezinde Bijdragen 1876. The Korte Beschrijving is written with strict impartiality and is a valuable source of information on the history of the Dutch Mennonites.
