The Krebs (Kreps) were a Swiss Mennonite family. They originally came from Reutigen in the Bernese Oberland. A number of them moved to the [[Netherlands|Netherlands]] because of the harsh measures of the Bern government against the Mennonites. Hans Krebs, a deacon of the Swiss Mennonite congregation of Kampen, promoted the merging (1822) with the local Mennonite congregation in this town.
