L’Église Missionnaire de Montréal was accepted as a church plant of the [[Quebec Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches|Quebec Mennonite Brethren Conference]] (AEFMQ) in April 2012. The congregation was begun by Jean-Calvin Kitata and was quite multiethnic with a Congolese core. When an attempt to buy a former Salvation Army building failed the group began to decline.
