Lao Christian Fellowship (Calgary, Alberta, Canada)

Lao Christian Fellowship in Calgary, Alberta began services about 1979. Lloyd Oppel is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through outreach by First Mennonite Church.

Membership in 1988 was about 12. The group formed from 15 Laotian refugee families sponsored by First Mennonite Church. First Mennonite provided leadership.

The group was never a formal congregation. The language of worship was Laotian.
