Laurens (Lauwerens) Allaerts (Loys Alaert) was an Anabaptist martyr. He was burned at the stake at Ghent, Belgium, on 16 July 1562, with Pieter van Maldeghem, Jacques Bostijn, and Pieter van Maele. Laurens was a citizen of Ghent, a maker of bags (taschmaker), and 30 years of age. His wife Kathelijne van Lokerhoute had suffered martyrdom at Gent on 24 March 1562. The names of Laurens and his three fellow martyrs are found in the song, "Als men schreef duyst vijfhondert jaer ende twee en tsestich mede," found in the supplement to the Lietboecxken van den Offer des Heeren (No. 1).
