Leeuwe, Claes van (d. 1549)

Claes van Leeuwe (Leeuwen) was a rector of the Latin school at Zutphen, Dutch province of Gelderland, where he died in 1549. When it became known that he had been a Mennonite, having been baptized upon his faith, his corpse was exhumed and buried in unconsecrated earth. His wife Cornelia died as a martyr.
