Lijsabeth, wife of Claes de Vries, was an Anabaptist martyr, burned at the stake at Antwerp, Belgium, in 1571. She died steadfast with a tongue-screw in her mouth, preventing her from speaking to the crowd gathered around the execution place. The identification of Lijsabeth and the exact date of her execution are not clear, since this martyr is not found in the official records of the Antwerp executions.
