Jakob Müller (1753-1827), born at [[Ibersheim (Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany)|Ibersheim]], South Germany, was the first elder of the Mennonite Church at [[Einsiedel (Lviv Oblast, Ukraine)|Einsiedel]], [[Galicia (Poland & Ukraine)|Galicia]], and an outstanding pioneer leader of that settlement. A number of his letters written to relatives in the [[Palatinate (Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany)|Palatinate]], which were printed by Bachmann, contain valuable information about the early Mennonite settlement in Galicia.
