Maeyken Daniels (d. 1559)

Maeyken Daniels (Mayken uyt Waes van Ghendt), an Anabaptist martyr, was strangled and burned at the stake on 21 February 1559, at Middelburg in the Dutch province of Zeeland. Being a native of Roesselare in Flanders, Belgium, she was held in prison for a long period, while the magistrates of Middelburg sought information about her from the Roman Catholic priest of her native town.
