The Meadows Mennonite Home in Meadows, McLean County, IL, was, until 1951, called Mennonite Old People's Home, and was legally organized as a non-profit corporation on 6 June 1919 by representatives from the Central and Defenseless Mennonite conferences and was supported by these conferences. The main building was erected in 1922, and a west wing added in 1951. On 6 January 1944 the Constitution and Bylaws were revised, and again 6 February 1954, when the name of the institution changed to "Meadows Mennonite Home." Superintendents and matrons who had served the Home prior to 1957 were Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Klassen, 2 years, Mr. and Mrs. G. I. Gundy, 22 years, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank R. Mitchell, since 1947.
