The Medahnialem (Savior of the World) Ethiopian Evangelical Church in Toronto, Ontario, Canada was accepted as an emerging congregation in Mennonite Church Eastern Canada in April 2013. It was a small group of recent Ethiopian immigrants desiring to reach out to the Ethiopian community in the greater Toronto area.
The style of worship was charismatic, with lengthy services. In 2014 the pastor reported, "We will pray for 45 minutes, then worship for an hour and 15 minutes, followed by a 40-minute sermon, and one song in closing."
Part of the church's mission has been to assist new immigrants to Canada with settlement issues. In 2014 the congregation met Sunday afternoon at the Woodbine Heights Baptist Church. Pastor Tadesse Mekuria provided leadership.
