The Mennonite Welfare Board ([[Mennonite Church (MC)|Mennonite Church]]) of Ontario was organized in 1939 by the [[Mennonite Conference of Ontario and Quebec|Ontario Conference]] as a board under which the Poor and Charity Funds administered by various committees were brought under the administration of the deacon body of the conference. Its purpose was to see that the welfare needs were met equally among the churches. Each deacon presented the needs of both laymen and ministers for his congregation. A levy of 15-30 cents was sufficient as dues per member. The Board met in September and in March. Special needs could be cared for by the Executive Committee between regular meetings. The Board contributed funds for needy Mennonites in the Braeside Home for the Aged in Preston. Considerable income was derived from endowment sources. After 1948 the child welfare work in Ontario was under this organization. The deacons were encouraged to cooperate in presenting the needs of all members with serious reverses caused by illness and other misfortune. In 1954, 18 cases were helped with a sum amounting nearly to $3,200. When the conference reorganized in 1969, this Board (then called Conference Welfare Committee) ceased it duties.

The Mennonite Welfare Board (Mennonite Church) of Ontario was organized in 1939 by the Ontario Conference as a board under which the Poor and Charity Funds administered by various committees were brought under the administration of the deacon body of the conference.
