Ministers' Bible Week, an annual institution, usually held on a college campus for the ministers and interested laymen and students of the community, for which occasion special speakers or Bible expositors are invited. The first Bible Week in connection with [[Bethel College (North Newton, Kansas, USA)|Bethel College]] took place in 1915 after the initiative had been taken at the [[Western District Conference (Mennonite Church USA)|Western District Conference]] session in October 1914. This Bible Week was originally held in connection with a course for ministers and Sunday-school workers. In 1952-1953 [[Hartzler, John Ellsworth (1879-1963)|J. E. Hartzler]] endowed a lectureship in connection with the Bible Week, which was known as the Hartzler Bible Lectureship. A similar Bible Week was being held at Tabor, Freeman, and [[Bluffton University (Bluffton, Ohio, USA)|Bluffton]] colleges. The [[Canadian Mennonite Bible College (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada)|Canadian Mennonite Bible College]] and the [[Mennonite Brethren Bible College (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada)|Mennonite Brethren Bible College]] of Winnipeg as well as the [[Mennonite Collegiate Institute (Gretna, Manitoba, Canada) |Gretna Collegiate Institute]] and Rosthern Junior College and the many other academies and Bible schools conducted a Bible Week for their students and constituency. Spiritual and intellectual guidance and stimulation have been given.
