The Minnewasta Mennonite Fellowship in Morden, Manitoba began services in 1989 and formally organized in 1990. They rented a formerly Presbyterian church building 1990. It was located on Main Street in Morden. Tym Elias is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation emerged with assistance from the Morden Bergthaler Mennonite Church. The congregation held its last service 28 June 1999

The congregation's vision was to provide an open door and sanctuary for all, but especially for those who had become distant from the church. They sought to combine both a peace and outreach focus. After ten years they felt called to use their gifts in different settings and congregations.

Pastor Jake Bergmann served in 1995 as a congregational leader. The congregation has been affiliated with the Conference of Mennonites in Canada and the Conference of Mennonites in Manitoba. The language of worship was English.
