The Montrose East congregation started in June 2009, containing most of the old Montrose congregation minus a few families that lived in the geographic area that then formed the Montrose West congregation. In 2010 the Montrose East congregation had about 100 members covering an area along the Middlebrook Road north to Elora over to Fergus around Ponsonby and Ariss to Winterbourne and Conestoga then up North Field Drive to Line 86 and back to Middlebrook Road at West Montrose.

Elverne Martin became the home minister for Montrose East. He was ordained in 1993 for Montrose. Richard Weber was ordained in the fall of 2009 for the Montrose East congregation. Richard was a long-time song leader along with his brother Leroy Weber for the Montrose congregation. Calvin Lichty then stepped in to help Leroy Weber as song leader for Montrose East.

In 2010 Walter Brubacher was the caretaker and usher. Services are held on alternating Sundays with the Montrose West congregation sharing the same facilities. Bishop Gordon Bauman has provided oversight for the congregation along with Montrose West, North Woolwich, Elmira, and Martins congregations.
