The Mountainview Grace Church in Calgary began services and formally organized in 1995. Prayer began in 1993 for a Chinese church planter in Calgary. The search for a Chinese candidate was a cooperative effort between the Alberta Conference of Mennonite Brethren (MB) Churches Church Extension Commission and British Columbia Chinese MB pastors.
