Nieuwenhuizen (Nieuwenhuyzen) is a Dutch Mennonite family found in Amsterdam and Haarlem. Maerten Nieuwenhuyzen, starting in 1729, was a preacher of the Flemish and Frisian Kruisstraat congregation at Haarlem, and after 1747, when this congregation merged with the Flemish Klein-Heiligland congregation, until 1760 of the United congregation. His son was Jan Nieuwenhuizen. In Amsterdam a Maerten Nieuwenhuizen was a deacon of the Zonist congregation in 1791.
