North Star Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (Hyas, Saskatchewan, Canada)

The North Star congregation at Hyas, Saskatchewan began services in 1979, and formally organized in 1980. The first building was occupied in 1980. David Penner is considered the founding leader of the group.

In 1985 there were 40 members; in 2000, 87. The congregation has been affiliated with the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. The language of worship is English.

North Star also operates North Star School.

The congregation is located 2 km. east and 3 km. north of Hyas. The address is: Hyas, SK, S0A 1K0. (306) 594-2550. Ministers Larry Bartel and Grant Penner served in 2001 as non-salaried congregational leaders.
