Old Elm Spring[[Hutterian Brethren (Hutterische Brüder)| Hutterite]] Colony in Magrath, Alberta, was founded in 1918 as a division from the Old Elm Springs Hutterite Colony in South Dakota. This South Dakota colony had been the original Lehrerleut colony in North America. In 2012 the Old Elm Spring Hutterite Colony was a [[Lehrerleut|Lehrerleut]] colony. The minister was George Wurz and the manager was Gideon J. Kleinsasser.

Old Elm Spring Hutterite Colony in Magrath, Alberta, was founded in 1918 as a division from the Oldelm Springs Hutterite Colony in South Dakota. This South Dakota colony had been the original Lehrerleut colony in North America.

Daughter colonies of the Old Elm Spring Hutterite Colony include: Rock Lake Hutterite Colony (Coaldale, Alberta, Canada); Bench Hutterite Colony (Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Canada); Sand Lake Hutterite Colony (Orkney, Saskatchewan, Canada); and Wild Rose Hutterite Colony (Vulcan, Alberta, Canada).

In 2017 the Old Elm Spring Hutterite Colony was a Lehrerleut colony.
