Oudenaarden (Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium)
Oudenaarden (Oudenaarde, Oudenaerde, Audenarde), a town in the Belgian province of East Flanders (pop. 6,520 in 1951; 28,299 in 2005; coordinates: 50° 50′ 35″ N, 3° 36′ 20″ E), was a center of Anabaptist activity during the 16th century. Though there is no information concerning congregational life in this town, at least one martyr was executed here, viz., Adriaen den Burry, on 10 July 1565. About the same period there was live Calvinist activity at Oudenaarden; in 1554-1573 thirteen Calvinists died here as martyrs.
