Patijn, a well-known Dutch family of French descent. Andries Jansz Patijn, a Mennonite (b. ca. 1559), moved from Rombeke in Flanders, [[Belgium|Belgium]], to Haarlem, Holland, where he died in 1623. He was a brandy seller and a member of the Haarlem Flemish Mennonite congregation, as was also his son Daniel Patijn (1612-1638).
