Pauw (Paauw, Pau, Pou, Pouw), a Dutch Mennonite family, originally living at De Rijp, province of North Holland, where Cornelis Jacobs Pauw (d. 1730) was a deacon of the Waterlander Mennonite congregation. He was probably a member of the Reformed Church, and joined the Mennonites in 1705 with his second wife. A number of his descendants, some of whom settled at Purmerend, were deacons at De Rijp and Purmerend. Ysbrand Arisz Pau(w) (d. 24 July 1793), a son of Aris Jacob Pauw and Neeltje Mars, of De Rijp, was a lay preacher of the Barsingerhorn-Wieringerward congregation in 1783-1793.
