Pauwels de Roovere, of Leuven (Louvain) in Belgium, a Catholic priest at Heverlee, Flanders, was arrested and imprisoned at Brussels, Belgium, in 1543; in August of this year he was degraded because of heresy and sentenced to life imprisonment in the castle of Vilvoorde.
