Pieter Pieters (Peter Petersz) of Leiden (called Borrekiek, Borrekierck, or Barekiek), an Anabaptist martyr, was beheaded at Amsterdam, Holland, on 10 July 1535 (not 15 May as van Braght states). He was a weaver, who had been (re)baptized in 1534 by Cornelis wt den Briel. In the spring of 1535 he fled from Leiden to Amsterdam. In his confession he clearly showed that he did not agree with the revolutionary ideas of most of the Leiden Anabaptists. He had not been in the Roman Catholic church for two or three years and emphatically rejected the Catholic doctrine of the Mass.
