Pieter Potvliet (d. 1562)
Pieter Potvliet, an Anabaptist martyr, a native of Thielt in Flanders, a weaver, was beheaded with his brother Jelis Potvliet and Jelis Strings at Wervik, Flanders, Belgium, in 1562 (exact date unknown). They had been sentenced to be burned at the stake, but because the heavy rains had made the wood too wet to burn they were beheaded.
