Plantinus family name

There have been three Dutch Mennon­ite ministers by this name: Petrus Plantinus, serving as preacher at Schiedam 1732-d.1741, Jan Plantinus (b. ca. 1783 at Dokkum), minister of Drachten and Ureterp 1809-1850, and his son Doede Plantinus (b. 1815 at Drachten, d. 1890 at Holwerd), minister of Rottevalle-Witveen 1839-1845, Uithuizen 1845-1847, Warga 1847-1849, and Holwerd-Blija 1849-1885. Jan and Doede Plantinus received their theological training at the Amsterdam Mennonite Seminary. Doede Plantinus was the author of a catechetical book, De Leer des Heils (1st edition, no date of publication indicated, 2nd edition 1882), and Blijf in hetgene gij geleer leerd hebt (Drachten, 1864), a sermon to commemorate his 25 years in the minis­try.
