Ernst Martin Plarre (1684-1717), an official in the military secretariat in Berlin, Germany. In 1701 he wrote his first book, E. M. P. Epideigma sive specimen historiae anabaptisticae. It is based on the Histoire des Anabaptistes (Paris, 1695), and upon its predecessor, Historia Tumultuum Anabaptisticorum (Basel, 1548) by Lambertus Hortensius. Hence Münster and the Netherlands occupy the foreground of his observations, followed by David Joris. Other areas in which the Anabaptists appeared are given less consideration; of these England is most extensively treated.
