Committee of Reference and Council of the [[General Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches|Mennonite Brethren General Conference]] was a standing committee of nine including the General Conference officers (chairman, vice-chairman, and secretary, and six men elected by the conference) to serve as the spiritual adviser and guardian for the church and all its agencies, in a sense the general supervisory body for the entire denomination, therefore of major importance.
