The Richmond Gospel Fellowship in Winnipeg began as an outreach church plant in fall 1986. It formally organized in 1988 with Randy and Lauralea Friesen serving as the first pastoral couple. During their ten years of service, attendance grew to an average of 80. Later pastoral couples were Garry and Robyn Peters and Dave and Gladys Penner.
In the early 1990s the congregation had an outreach ministry connected with Winnipeg Harvest.
The congregation worshipped in school gymnasiums for some years before moving to the Fort Richmond Collegiate school theatre.
The congregation decided to discontinue meeting in fall 2002. It held its closing servince on 20 October 2002. Reasons for closing included decline in Sunday school enrolment, the departure of several families and the need to move from the Fort Richmond facility.
