Roeters, a Dutch Mennonite family, probably from Emmerich, Germany (a Pauwels Roeters was a cloth merchant there about 1650), found at Amsterdam since the early 17th century. One branch of the Roeters family belonged to the Old Frisian Mennonite and later to the Zon congregation. Another branch was Lamist; one of these was Abraham Roeders (Roeters), a deacon of the Lamist congregation in 1667, who also took part in the meetings of the Collegiants and was a warm supporter of Pastor Galenus Abrahamsz. A number of other members of the Roeters family served as deacons of the Amsterdam Lamist church.

A lateral branch of this family is the Roeters van Lennep family, whose progenitor was Jacob Roeters van Lennep (1740-1808), the son of David van Lennep and Perina Roeters. He was a deacon of the Amsterdam congregation, as was also his grandson Herman Christiaan Roeters van Lennep (1820-79).
