Rosedale Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (Crooked Creek, Alberta, Canada)
Rosedale Church of God in Christ Mennonite Church, located at Crooked Creek, Peace River District, Alberta, was organized in 1939. The congregation originated through colonization from Linden, Alberta. Church services began in 1930 with the coming of Gerhard de Veer from Swalwell, Alberta. The first church building of 1931 was followed by another in 1938, built of logs, with room for 150 persons. Subsequent building projects occurred in 1949 and 1972. One minister and two deacons had been ordained in the history of the church by the late 1950s. At that time the meetings included weekly Sunday morning services, biweekly Sunday evening services, a monthly Christian Endeavor, and midweek Bible study.
In 1957 the ministers in charge were Peter I. Thiessen and Alvie Esau. In 2010 the ministers were Trevor Penner, Dennis Toews, and Lee Wohlgemuth.
The congregation operates Rosedale Christian School as well as senior citizen and selfcare units. Leadership of the congregation is on a rotational basis, with one minister serving three or more years.
