Rosenort Church of God in Christ, Mennonite (Rosenort, Manitoba, Canada)

The Rosenort Church of God in Christ, Mennonite congregation began services in 1881, and formally organized in 1882 with a membership of 36. The first building was occupied in 1919, with a subsequent building program in 1949. John T. Enns is considered the founding leader of the group. The congregation originated through division from the Kleine Gemeinde Mennonites. Services were held in homes and schoolhouses until the first church was build in 1919.

In 1958 services were held in English though families still used Low German in the homes. Musical instruments were not permitted. Footwashing was practiced at communion services.

In in 1960 there were 188 members; in 1985, 246; in 2000, 252. The congregation has been affiliated with the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. The language of worship is English.

The congregation's address is Rosenort, MB, R0G 1W0. (204) 746-8944. The church is located 2 km west, 1 km south of Rosenort. Minister Jake E. Bartel served in 2001 as one of the non-salaried congregational leaders. The congregation also operates Prairie View School.
