Rosental Evangelische Mennoniten-Gemeinde, commonly known as Allianz-Gemeinde, was organized in Rosental near Chortitza, Ukraine, in the 1920's under the leadership of A. G. Klassen (born 12 March 1883, died in exile) and patterned after the Evangelische Mennoniten-Gemeinden elsewhere. This group was characterized by a more tolerant attitude than the Mennonite Brethren toward other Mennonites and a strong evangelistic emphasis. The movement spread into other villages such as Schöneberg, Osterwick, Einlage, and Neuenburg. The Council of Elders (Aeltestenrat) consisted of A. G. Klassen, A. Froese, and B. B. Dyck, who were assisted by the following ministers: J. K. Janzen, P. G. Klassen, Dietrich Klassen, and G. P. Schröder. The group was very active also among the Russian population. A. G. Klassen, B. B. Dyck, and others perished in exile, while other ministers and members of the group found their way to Canada and South America.
