Rotholz (Rotenholz, Rothholz), a village in the Inn Valley, near Jenbach, Tyrol, Austria (coordinates: 47° 23′ 20″ N, 11° 48′ 00″ E), one of the villages in which Anabaptists were found in the early period. In November 1527 it was ascertained that "foreign persons" were in the village, "who take the liberty of stirring up our subjects on Anabaptism and other seductive articles." A search was ordered and carried out. Two Anabaptists lost their lives at the stake at that time. In 1574 the Hutterite Hans Planner was put to death in Rotholz; the Hutterite chronicles relate that an epileptic woman recovered her health by drinking the blood of this martyr.
