Salem Publishing House (Inman, Kansas, USA)

Salem Publishing House, Inman, Kansas, was owned and operated 1934-58 by the J. H. Klassen family, members of the Krimmer Mennonite Brethren. It printed several Mennonite church papers, such as the Wahrheitsfreund, Christian Witness, Zion's Tidings, and Gospel Tidings, and also the Sower for the Northern Bible Society of Duluth, MN. They also did binding and rebinding of worn Bibles. The firm had its beginning in a low one-room building, but later acquired a brick and tile building, 35 x 100 ft, with a stock room and a small retail bookstore. In 1958 this firm changed its name to The Klassen Bookbindery and sold its printing equipment and bookstore. It still rebinds worn Bibles as a hobby.
