Sand Lake Hutterite Colony ion Orkney, Saskatchewan, was founded in 1966 (Hofer says 1964) as a division from the Old Elm Spring Hutterite Colony.
A daughter colony of the Sand Lake Hutterite Colony is the Butte Hutterite Colony (Bracken, Saskatchewan, Canada).
In 2017 the Sand Lake Hutterite Colony was a Lehrerleut colony.
