View source for Schütt, Jelle Jansz (1802-1895)

Jelle Jansz Schütt: mayor and leader of the Mennonite congregation at [[Friedrichstadt (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany)|Friedrichstadt]] on the Eider, Germany; b. in [[Ameland (Friesland, Netherlands)|Ameland]] in Holland, 11 November 1802, d. 18 January 1895, rendered outstanding service to the congregation in fifty years of untiring devotion and work. On 3 January 1886, he celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of his service. In the [[Hamburg-Altona Mennonite Church (Freie und Hansestadt Hamburg, Germany)|Hamburg-Altona]] congregation the name Schütt is also found among the outstanding leaders.
