Pieter Gerrits Schagen was a deacon in 1674; Pieter Schagen was four times a deacon in 1737-54; Pieter Schagen Jr. 1749-51, and Jan Regter Schagen four times in 1777-1814. Members of this family are the preachers [[Schagen, Marten (1700-1770)|Marten Schagen]] and his son [[Schagen, Petrus (Pieter) (1725-1753) |Petrus Schagen]]. There was also a Reformed branch of this family at Alkmaar.
