Cornelis Schermer of Wormerveer was a Mennonite preacher of [[Ilp (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Den Ilp]] 1770-1780, [[Hindeloopen (Friesland, Netherlands)|Hindeloopen]] (Nieuwekerk) 1780-1790, and [[Uithoorn (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Uithoorn]]-[[Aalsmeer (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Aalsmeer]] 1790-1804. His son Klaas Schermer (d. 31 December 1854), trained for the ministry by his father, served as preacher in the Wormerveer op't Noord congregation 1800-1849. Lucas Schermer, a merchant at [[Wormerveer (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Wormerveer]], was a representative to the national Dutch parliament meeting at The Hague in 1796.
