Hans von Schubert (1859-1931): Protestant theologian active in Anabaptist research as executive manager of the Verein für Reformationsgeschichte. He was a professor of church history at the universities of Strasbourg, Kiel, and Heidelberg, the author of numerous books, including Kirchengeschichte Schleswig-Holsteins I (1907), Der Kommunismus der Wiedertäufer zu Münster und seine Quellen (1919), and his biographical work, Lazarus Spengler und die Reformation zu Nürnberg I (Leipzig, 1934).
