Johann Seyfried, a preacher at the Lutheran church of St. George in [[Augsburg (Freistaat Bayern, Germany)|Augsburg, Germany]], was tolerant to the [[Anabaptism|Anabaptists]] in the city and was one of the few clergymen of the Reformation period to defend them.
