Jan Sibes, surnamed Pot(te) backer, was an elder of the Mennonite congregation of Harlingen in [[Friesland (Netherlands)|Friesland, Netherlands]], in the 17th century. Concerning this elder there is not much information. He may have been identical with the Jan Sybesz who was a member of the Glückstadt Mennonite congregation in 1633. Sibes often preached in the congregation of Hamburg-Altona; in 1676 he there ordained [[Pieters, Ocke (d. 1685)|Ocke Pieters]] as a preacher.
