Slagregen family

Slag(h)regen, a former Mennonite family of Amsterdam, Holland, members of the Flemish congregation and after the schism in 1664 of the Zonist Mennonite congregation, some of them serving as deacons. The Slagregens were also found in the Haarlem Waterlander congregation, where a few of its members were trustees of the congregational orphanage in the 17th and 18th centuries. Jacob Slagregen, died 1853, a stone merchant at Amsterdam, was a trustee of the Oranjeappel orphanage in 1823-53 and a cofounder of the Dutch Mennonite Mission Association. This family died out in the 19th century.
