Rudolf Stähelin (1811-1900), a Swiss Protestant historian, professor of theology at the University of [[Basel (Switzerland)|Basel]]. His most important work, <em>Huldreich Zwingli</em> (1895 and 1897), presents the beginnings of the [[Anabaptism|Anabaptist]] movement in Zürich and in [[Switzerland|Switzerland]]; it is a very valuable book.
