The Swalwell Country Church near Acme, Alberta began after revival meetings in 1991 at the large Linden Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. Some members believed the congregation was too large, not allowing many members to share their talents. The Swalwell and Sunnyslope congregations emerged from this conviction in 1992.
