Swift Current Colony (Bolivia)

The Swift Current Colony is located 50 km (30 miles) south of Santa Cruz, adjacent to the north edge of Riva Palacios colony. Swift Current colony was established in 1967 by Mennonites from the Swift [Current] colony in Mexico. In 1986 there were 20 villages in the Bolivian colony. This Old Colony Mennonite group was then under the leadership of bishop Peter Klassen. In 1986 the church consisted of 840 members within a total population of 2,510.
