Tanneken Vermeeren, an Anabaptist of Antwerp, Belgium, who was in prison there in 1565 because of her convictions. She may have been the same person as Tanneken Wagemans, a Mennonite who escaped from prison at Antwerp during the night of 13 March 1567, with some 60 other prisoners among whom there were eight Mennonites, thereupon moving either to Emden or Cologne. But it is also possible that Tanneken Vermeeren is not identical with Tanneken Wagemans, and that she was executed or died in prison.
